Event Recap | Vino Y Conchas Festival with Sanctuary Oysters
In case you missed it – the Sanctuary Oysters team attended the XX Festival de Las Conchas y El Vino Nuevo (20th Annual Festival of Shells and New Wine) to celebrate the rich aquaculture, local winemakers and hospitality industry in Ensenada, Baja California and beyond! The week-long series of events showcased outstanding wine and seafood before concluding with a grand tasting on Sunday, May 5 at The Coral & Marina Hotel.
The event included aquaculture workshops, farm and facility tours, pairing dinners with notable chefs from Mexico and the featured guest country this year, Australia. Taking place in Valle de Guadalupe, the festival highlighted local winemakers, chefs and restaurants who presented the best of their creations for attendees to enjoy.
The Sanctuary Oysters team was excited to join the festival for the 7th consecutive year. We firmly believe in the tradition and importance of this event to the Baja California region, which showcases the best fresh-caught seafood, renowned chefs and more. Aligning closely with our values, the festival spotlights the sustainability practices of all participating vendors.
A mix of local, national and international restaurants were featured at the event and were accompanied by more than 120 different wines. Seafood was prepared by some of the region’s top chefs and consisted of oysters, clams, mussels, abalone and more. The seafood and wine varieties allowed attendees to see firsthand the dedication and innovation behind every business.
Our team held oyster shucking demonstrations and unforgettable tastings for guests to enjoy all week long! As we wrap up the 20th edition of the annual festival, we can’t wait to see what the future of seafood has in store.
