The Best Craft Beer and Sanctuary Oyster Pairings

Did you know your beverage can really amplify a Sanctuary Oyster’s taste? It’s true! We all have our drink of preference, but one of our favorite ways to enhance our oysters’ flavors is by pairing them with the richest craft beers.

Blonde Ales

If you’re looking for a light pairing with a clean finish, then try our oysters with 805 Beer or Cerveza Urbana’s blonde ale. Brewed for a laid-back California lifestyle, 805 Beer’s subtle malt sweetness and touch of hops will perk up the underlying flavors in our West Coast oysters. You can also opt for Cerveza Urbana’s easy-drinking, straw-golden ale. Crafted in Baja California, their blonde ales are smoothed with a Vienna malt flavor, which will bring a crisp finish to your pairing.

Lagers

A step up from blonde ales, pairing Sanctuary Oysters with smooth lagers creates a refreshing flavor profile. One of the best places to enjoy our oysters with is TAPS Brewery & Barrel Room in Orange County, California. We recommend trying their Light and Cheve lagers. With a malty and biscuit-like backbone, Taps Brewery’s Cheve is an incredibly drinkable Mexican lager that you can enjoy with your friends all year long. If you’re looking for a lager with a lighter body that’s still flavorful, try their American craft Light lager. With no corn, rice or adjuncts, it’s a smooth beverage that takes a backseat while you enjoy our oysters’ bold, briny taste.

India Pale Ales

India pale ales always bring a strong bite—and Ballast Point and Cerveza Urbana’s IPAs are no exception. If you’re looking for a bold-flavored pairing with sweeter notes, then Ballast Point’s Sculpin Collection is for you. This lineup is expertly crafted to balance bright, citrus flavors with the right amount of depth. Their lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops, making it a strong pairing with our briny, juicy Pacific oysters. If you’re craving aromas of tropical flavors, then you should definitely pair your Sanctuary Oysters with Cerveza Urbana’s Crossover IPA. Its deep, copper tone delivers hints of mango and passionfruit supported by a medium-body Munich malt backbone, bringing a flavorful yet balanced experience.

Sweet and Sour Beers

Enhancing flavors is great for pairings, but a balanced pairing is also a satisfying experience. When you bite into a Sanctuary Oyster, you’ll experience their juicy, briny liquor followed by a slightly sweet meat. Pairing our oysters with a sweet or sour beer will balance out the briny liquor while enhancing the sweetness of the meat, so you get the best of both worlds! On the sweeter side, you can play around with Coronado Brewing Co.’s Orange Ave. Wit, which bolsters hints of orange blossom honey and a citrus zing. If you prefer more of a sour, then try Coronado Brewing Co.’s Berried At Sea. You’ll collide with a satisfying blend of tart berry flavors that translate into a smooth, easy-drinking ale.

With so many delicious pairings, it’s hard to choose just one to enjoy! If you’re ready to try one of these tasty options, email us at info@solazul.com.mx.
