The Oysters are Back from Vacation!

At Sanctuary Oysters, we’re excited to announce that our oysters are back from vacation! Did you miss them? Because we sure did. Just like us in the summer months, our oysters need a break to enjoy a little rest and relaxation, soak up the Baja California sun, and gear up for the upcoming fall season.

During the warm summer months, it is not in the farm’s best interest to produce oysters due to the fluctuating water temperatures. Although you can certainly eat oysters during the summer season, warmer waters result in weaker and thinner oysters. At Sanctuary Oysters, we’re dedicated to implementing methods are in our customers' best interest and ensuring that our oysters are full with rich flavors. That’s why we make the bold decision to hold back on distributing during the summer months and let our oysters go on vacation!

This pause on distribution also allows us to give our hardworking team some well-deserved time off. Work life balance is very important to us and we’re glad we can give our team the opportunity to volunteer, take care of their health, and spend quality time with their families. It also gives us the opportunity to recognize their outstanding work by hosting a companywide celebration!

You might be wondering: what did the oysters do during this break? Well, they got to enjoy breathtaking views of the El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve, take time to chit chat with each other among the oyster beds, and cheer on our employees during our companywide BBQ party!

But now the tides are turning, the water is getting colder and the oysters are thriving all in time for November. We promise that their vacation was only temporary and they’re back with the richest taste ever. Are you interested in trying Sanctuary Oysters’ bolder flavor?
