Celebrating Our Everyday Heroes
Everyday life keeps shifting as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. At Sanctuary Oysters, we continue to follow all safety precautions and protocols recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to decrease the spread of the virus. While we are doing our part to keep our staff and community healthy and safe, it is our everyday heroes that deserve celebration. They have been there for us and we must recognize their efforts.
These self-less souls have put their own life at risk in effort to help those affected by the virus. Since the start of this viral outbreak, these unsung heroes have endured never-ending shifts, all while wearing the required protective gear to do the job. It is difficult. After work, some of these members of our community get home and resist giving their loved ones and kids a hug because they fear passing the virus. Whether you are a grocery store clerk or cashier, delivery driver, doctor, nurse or first responder—thank you for all your hard work and dedication to save lives.
Grocery stores and restaurants that have kept their doors open to the community must be honored too. Without their service, people would have a hard time getting food and other essential supplies needed to survive — For this very reason, we thank them as well for keeping our community fed.
As a community, we will get through this together. The Sanctuary Oysters team will continue to stay informed and implement best practices to keep everyone healthy and safe. At the moment, we have pivoted at the farm from preparing three shipments of oysters per week to one per week. The recent change has allowed us to put extra care into safety measures to harvest, pack and practice safe social distancing. As a result, Sanctuary Oysters can continue to grow and provide you with the most delicious and juiciest Pacific oysters. Are you craving and looking to indulge in your favorite Sanctuary Oysters?
